Overview
This process updates product records in Eclipse with new UPC and/or catalog numbers using a file import utility.
Method Options
You may complete this process using either:
- E-term (green screen interface), or
- Solar (web interface)
Method 1: Using E-term
Step 1: Prepare the Spreadsheet
Create a CSV file with the following three columns:
Column 1 - Product ID (Eclipse ID without the dot)
Column 2 - UPC
Column 3 - Catalog #
Note: Save the file as a CSV (comma delimited) file.
Step 2: Upload the File to Your Spooler
- In E-term, navigate to: F2 > P (Printers)
- Locate and select Your hold entries.
- Press Alt + U to upload a file.
- Select the CSV file you prepared.
- Enter a Title for the file.
- Press ENTER to complete the upload.
Step 3: Process the Import
- Press Alt + R to process.
- Press F10 to select the import type.
- Choose File import.
- Enter the Work ID: UPDATE.UPC
- Press ENTER or follow on‑screen prompts to begin updating UPC and catalog numbers.
Method 2: Using Solar
Step 1: Prepare the Spreadsheet
Follow the same spreadsheet preparation as in Method 1, Step 1.
Step 2: Navigate to the Import Tool
- Log into Solar.
- Go to: Tools > Importing > Solar Eclipse File Import
Step 3: Run the Import
- Enter the Import Map ID: UPC.UPDATE
- Select the CSV file you prepared.
- Click Import.
- Click Begin Import to execute the update.
Final Notes
- Verify that the Product ID in your spreadsheet matches the Eclipse ID exactly, excluding any dot (.).
- Always confirm a small sample of records after import to ensure the UPC and catalog numbers updated correctly.
